I was watching the news (I think it was CBC) the other day and they were doing a piece on these cars made in India that the price is approximately $2500 in American dollars. Apparently only one in seven people in India drive cars and with over a billion people living in India some people are concerned with the effects this affordable vehicle will have on the environment. But I think it is important to note how this vehicle has the potential of changing the automotive industry world-wide. If other auto-manufactures will want to compete then they are going to have to produce less expensive cars; this assumes the maker of this car is planning to enter other countries markets as well as that this vehicle can meet other countries standards and politics (political support for parties, government-industry connections, etc.) does not get in the way.
