I have linked this article to that of that I have written on school shootings because these all have to do with the lost of school-age life, both in terms of the age and the innocence of these years. I was also complex at how strangers could show-up at people funeral service, even if a public or community one. I was complex because while these people being honored where important, as all of us are, they were not national heroes. I thought maybe it was because of the life that was lost, for the most part, was so young. I thought maybe it is the difference of a larger population and smaller that had me complex at the attention given to all this. I do not think what attracts us to this event is the feeling of the events unnecessary tragedy (although certainly it was tragic) or even some short of shared fear that something like it could happen to any of us. Rather I think it is because it was a public event, and as such people are intrigued about it or that people believed they are entitled to share in it.
