Social Change: Is it Possible?

It dawned on me that the way for change to be brought about is not through politics as there is to many partisan barriers (everywhere from internal alliances of parties and their associate groups to media coverage/spinning); instead, our only hope is from small projects or a major projects broken-up into small bite size pieces by various organizations pulling their skills together each handling a single simplified component of the project: all overseen by a council of the organizations ensuring things combine together to form a functioning unit.

These collectively projects should be funded through a government, private, and corporate donations. Government should have a set formula to match funding raised by these groups through ratios (i.e., for each $5 they raise government will donate $1 or whatever the case may be). These groups in relation to these projects should be non-partisan. This should be enforced by the public at election: tell the politicians it is a good project regardless of who is operating it and thus they must support it otherwise you will not vote for them. Remember unless you are a member of a party you are not obliged to support or not support any particular candidate or party regardless of whom you supported last election!

To put it another way, people need to get off their spoil butts and get involved by contributing by both suggesting solutions as well as actually implementing the solution. The truth is that most of us think we are entitled to have others do are bidding, when most of us cannot layout the path from where we are to where we want to be (in other words ‘anyone can say something is wrong, do something about it,’ or ‘this is how things should be,’ but very few people can say ‘these are the things that can be done to make things better’ and even fewer are those actually willing to get their hands dirty).
